If you can spend money of about Rs 12 to 15 Lakhs without any expectations of financial support from the university, you can go ahead with the admission process The university reputation is quite OK.
*NOTE: One of my students Mr Venu did his MS in Electrical Engineering from this university and after 4 years of job experience he did his MBA from Cornell University. He is in very good position and earning 200,000 dollars per annum. His academics and GRE scores before he entered this school were average.
If you get admission in an engineering stream try to look for a transfer in other streams (after completing first semester course work ) such as statistical science and other related courses where competition is less and job prospects are plenty.
My Analysis and Experience with the admission criteria:
* There could be changes in admission criteria from year to year.
*Acceptance rate is good and possibilities of getting admission are plenty with the above scores.
2. ORKUT COMMUNITY COMMENTS:
There is good response from the Orkut community about this university (Probably the Rich Guys!!!!!)
Response of One student
The IT/CS department at Mason has a decent national ranking. Also, the vast number of IT companies in this area means that finding a job may be a little easier than in FL and you won’t have to relocate either. IT companies in this area are hiring college graduates at a good pace these days.
Response of another student
I found Mason to offer a lot of opportunities that I didnt find at the other colleges. I am also a graduate of University of Maryland and Towson University. Both were great, very fun schools, but didnt help me much in finding jobs, networking, or starting my career. Because I couldn't find a job, I went to Mason to do a Ph.D., within the first semester, I worked on a class project that I later used to get my first job as an IT consultant. I still continued school and all the contacts I have made from Mason has helped me a lot in my career and I am very grateful for that.
Being at Mason, maybe its because of its location, but you will have the opportunity to make contacts, talk to big recruiters, or even foster your ideas into a company.
Another thing I like about Mason is the diversity but unity among all the students and school spirit. And, I cant forget to mention the great basketball team.
Well, I hope this helps.
